C1960 a high relief story board depicting village life in Papua New Guinea. A story board is a carved wooden board made from wood from the Kapok Tree, they tell a story and are a tradiition from the lower Sepik region of Africa. They are displayed in the "Haus Tambarans" (mens houses) as a decoration. This board is of a good size and intricately carved it features the Kambot tribe in various poses, warriors, woman at work, birds, boats animals. A fabulous piece of wall art.
